Where can I find other JEI Self-Learning Centers?

JEI Self Learning Centers can be found throughout the United States and Canada, and currently there are more than 70 Learning Centers in operation or development.

How long has JEI Self-Learning Centers been in business?

We have been operating in the United States since 1992 and worldwide since 1977.

How do I start?

After receiving an application and information packet, you will be asked to fill out the application as well as to submit your resume. To learn about the application process, go to the “Application Process” page. To request an information packet, please refer to the “Request Info” page.

May I open a franchise in my area?

JEI currently has about 100 learning centers in the US and Canada. To check the availability of your area, call the JEI Headquarter directly at 1-888-JEI-Math (Eastern) or 1-877-JEI-MATH (Western) to find out.

Am I qualified to become a franchisee at JEI?

Do you love working with children? If you do, JEI franchise can be what you are looking for. We prefer those applicants with some background in teaching and education, but it is not necessary. More important is your enthusiasm and devotion towards educating your students.

To open a JEI Self-Learning Center, do I need to have a background in
education?

No. While having some experience in the fields of business or education is preferred, we only expect the franchisee to have a minimum of a four-year college degree.

How much is my initial startup cost going to be?

The initial franchise fee includes the cost of a New Franchisee Training and the use of the JEI Self-Learning Centers’ corporate identity and proprietary materials. This initial investment is $57,550 - $92,000.

What is the Royalty Fee?

The Royalty Fee is the cost of using the ongoing services and identity of the franchisor. This fee enables us to provide you with continuous support from our staff as long as we are in business together.

What type of service and support from the Corporate Office can I expect?

We will assist you with franchise matters, training, marketing, research and development, and administrative efforts.

Training

In order to operate a JEI Self-Learning Center, you must successfully pass our New Franchisee Training program. The training will prepare you for the day-to-day operations of your business, and you will learn techniques for heightening the level of service that you provide to your clients. In addition, we offer ongoing training throughout the year that is a mandatory part of our mutual commitment to each other. Throughout the year you will receive updates on the status of our industry, and you will learn about current trends in the education and business fields. Our training is meant to keep you updated and aware of possible client concerns, such as testing and pertinent seasonal events.

Site Selection

JEI is committed to helping you find a location for your business that will suit your needs most adequately, and help your business to grow and become an integral part of the surrounding community. We will work with you to locate and survey possible sites, and we will give you guidance in what to look for in a lease agreement.

Marketing and Advertising

Our marketing department will assist you in the creation of seasonal and location specific advertising, and we will help you plan a marketing strategy for the year. You will be expected to contribute to the Corporate Advertising Fund, which we will use to generate large-scale marketing in your area. This will create more brand recognition and awareness for your business. Our staff is committed to heightening consumer awareness through creative and effective marketing media, including newspapers, radio, flyers, direct mailings, and more.

Administrative Support

Our administrative and franchising departments will give you full support in corresponding with the Headquarters Office, including assistance with ordering materials, help with various accounting needs, franchise coordinator support, and assistance with the opening and continuous operation of your facility. You will have access to our own administrative management software available for exclusive use by JEI Self-Learning Center Directors. You will have the materials and access needed to run your business smoothly from the very beginning. As long as we are in business together, you can expect to receive the highest level of support from JEI.

How do I get approved?

If you are eligible to become a franchisee, JEI will contact you for an interview. If you are qualified, together we will select a location for your center and train you so that you will learn about the JEI Self-Learning Systems and center operations and procedures.
